Skanda
Tirtha: Kāśī (Avimukta-kṣetra)
Type: kshetra
Listener: null
Scene: A pilgrim reaches Kāśī’s radiant ghāṭs but stands with folded arms and averted face, ‘tolerating’ the place; behind him, four personified aims (dharma, artha, kāma, mokṣa) turn away and depart, while the city remains luminous and inviting.
Pilgrimage bears fruit when joined with श्रद्धा (reverent intent); contempt or mere tolerance of sacred space blocks the puruṣārtha fruits.
Śrīmatī Kāśī—Kāśī praised as inherently auspicious and liberation-oriented.
No explicit rite; the implied prescription is respectful residence/approach to Kāśī.
