Skanda Purana — Kashi Khanda, Shloka 48

देहे परैका कृशता तपोभिर्नियमैर्यमैः । एतैर्मनोरथफलैः फलत्येव तपोद्रुमाः

dehe paraikā kṛśatā tapobhirniyamairyamaiḥ | etairmanorathaphalaiḥ phalatyeva tapodrumāḥ

Dans le corps, il peut n’apparaître qu’un seul effet—la maigreur—par les austérités, les observances et les disciplines; pourtant l’arbre du tapas porte assurément son fruit grâce à elles, accordant les buts désirés et les accomplissements intérieurs.
