बध्यतां वध्यतामेष याति वेगान्मृगो वने । एवं वदत्सु सैन्येषु स्वयमुत्प्लुत्य शंकरः
badhyatāṃ vadhyatāmeṣa yāti vegānmṛgo vane | evaṃ vadatsu sainyeṣu svayamutplutya śaṃkaraḥ
«Attrapez-le ! Tuez-le ! Le cerf s’enfuit à toute vitesse dans la forêt !»—tandis que les soldats criaient ainsi, Śaṅkara lui-même bondit en avant.
