Quiconque, ne fût-ce qu’une seule fois, contemple le liṅga établi par Rāma, celui-là obtient la délivrance, sous la forme de l’union avec Śiva.
Sūta (continuing the Rāmanātha māhātmya)
Tirtha: Rāmeśvara / Rāmanātha-liṅga
Type: kshetra
Scene: Rāma stands in reverence before the newly established Śiva-liṅga at the sea-girt Setu-kṣetra; pilgrims approach for a single, transformative darśana, with the ocean and temple corridors suggesting the meeting of vastness and stillness.
Darśana of a divinely consecrated emblem (liṅga) at a tīrtha can itself become a direct cause for liberation.
The Rāmeśvara/Rāmanātha liṅga at Rāmeśvaram, said to be established by Śrī Rāma.
Darśana—beholding the Rāma-established liṅga even once.
