Sūta
Tirtha: Rāmanātha (Rāmeśvara)
Type: kshetra
Listener: dvija-śreṣṭhas (assembled brāhmaṇas)
Scene: Sūta begins a new section, gesturing toward the grandeur of Rāmanātha; a vision of the coastal temple with towering gopurams/corridors, the liṅga sanctum, and pilgrims approaching with offerings; the sea and Setu atmosphere in the background.
Sacred narration (māhātmya) is a purifier: hearing the glory of the Lord at a holy site is itself a means of pāpa-kṣaya.
Rāmanātha/Rāmeśvara—Rāmeśvaram in the Setu region, central to the Setukhaṇḍa.
Śravaṇa—listening to the māhātmya—is presented as the efficacious practice.
