श्वेतोऽश्ववालो नीलो वा विनते ब्रूहि तत्त्वतः । इत्युक्त्वा विनता विप्राः कद्रूं तामिदमब्र वीत् । तुरंगः श्वेतवालो मे प्रतिभाति सुमध्यमे । किं वा त्वं मन्यसे कद्रूरिति तां विनताऽब्रवीत्
śveto'śvavālo nīlo vā vinate brūhi tattvataḥ | ityuktvā vinatā viprāḥ kadrūṃ tāmidamabra vīt | turaṃgaḥ śvetavālo me pratibhāti sumadhyame | kiṃ vā tvaṃ manyase kadrūriti tāṃ vinatā'bravīt
« La queue du cheval est-elle blanche ou noire ? Vinatā, dis la vérité. » Ayant parlé ainsi, Vinatā s’adressa à Kadrū : « À mes yeux, ô toi à la taille gracieuse, le cheval paraît avoir la queue blanche. Qu’en penses-tu, Kadrū ? »
