Viṣṇu
Listener: Dvijas (sages)
Scene: Viṣṇu speaks tenderly to sage Mudgala, promising liberation; then Viṣṇu embraces him—an intimate moment of divine grace amid a tīrtha setting.
Liberation is ultimately granted by the Lord’s grace, assuring the devotee freedom from bondage at life’s end.
The broader episode belongs to the Kṣīrasara tīrtha māhātmya within Setukhaṇḍa.
No direct ritual is prescribed here; it emphasizes the Lord’s promise and salvific embrace.
