Skanda (deduced from Setu Māhātmya narrative style)
Tirtha: Setu
Type: kshetra
Listener: dvijās (addressed)
Scene: Pilgrims carrying small offerings—sesame, grain, a coin pouch—approach the seashore; a narrator-ṛṣi gestures toward both the water and a line of recipients (brāhmaṇas/poor), visually linking snāna and dāna.
The verse contrasts neglected charity with the aspiration for heaven, redirecting seekers toward the purifying, merit-bestowing pilgrimage to Setu.
Setu Tīrtha/Setu Kṣetra, where bathing is sought for spiritual merit.
Setu-snāna (bathing at Setu); dāna items (sesame, land, gold, grain, rice) are referenced as classical charities.
