Dans le quartier du nord, qu’on offre de l’or ; et au nord-est, du ghee également. Que le donateur donne en proclamant : « Que Yamarāja soit satisfait de moi ».
Deductive: a Purāṇic narrator prescribing the concluding directional offerings and dedication formula for Yama-śānti.
Tirtha: Revā (Narmadā) tīrthas
Type: kshetra
Scene: At a riverbank altar, the donor places a small gold piece to the north and a ghee vessel to the northeast; the brāhmaṇa witnesses as the donor speaks the Yama-pleasing formula.
Charity is sealed by intention and dedication; the rite culminates in consciously offering merit for Yama’s appeasement and moral purification.
The verse is a ritual conclusion within Revā-khaṇḍa and does not directly praise a particular tīrtha.
Place/offer gold in the north and ghee in the northeast, and recite the dedication: “yamarājo me prīyatām” (May Yamarāja be pleased with me).
