Mārkaṇḍeya (contextual, continuing narration in Revā Khaṇḍa)
Tirtha: Bhṛgutunga-Bhairava; Capaleśvara tīrtha
Type: peak
Listener: Yudhiṣṭhira (addressed as Mahārāja)
Scene: A rocky hill (Bhṛgutunga) crowned by a Bhairava shrine—Śiva fierce yet auspicious; below on the southern slope a smaller liṅga-shrine labeled Capaleśvara; pilgrims climb with lamps at dusk.
It maps sacred geography: recognizing Śiva’s forms (Bhairava) and nearby tīrthas is itself part of pilgrimage-knowledge (tīrtha-jñāna) that supports dharma.
Bhṛgutunga, where Śiva is renowned as Bhairava, and the nearby Capaleśvara tīrtha on the southern side.
No explicit rite is stated here; the verse primarily identifies the deity-form and the tīrtha location.
