ततो भुक्ते महादेवे सर्वदेवमये शिवे । पुष्पवृष्टिः पपाताशु गगनात्तस्य मूर्धनि । तस्यास्तिक्यं तु संलक्ष्य तुष्टः प्रोवाच शङ्करः
tato bhukte mahādeve sarvadevamaye śive | puṣpavṛṣṭiḥ papātāśu gaganāttasya mūrdhani | tasyāstikyaṃ tu saṃlakṣya tuṣṭaḥ provāca śaṅkaraḥ
Quand Mahādeva — Śiva, en qui résident tous les dieux — eut mangé, une prompte pluie de fleurs tomba du ciel sur la tête de cet homme. Voyant sa foi inébranlable, Śaṅkara, satisfait, prit la parole.
