Type: kshetra
Listener: Brahmā (Padmayoni/Pitāmaha)
Scene: Mahādeva speaks to Brahmā: after being praised with many mantras, he grants peace, then reveals a blazing, multi-mouthed form consuming the world—simultaneously compassionate and terrifying.
Divine praise (stuti) pacifies fear and grants śānti, yet the same Lord also manifests as the cosmic power that dissolves the world.
The setting is the Revā-khaṇḍa connected with the sacred Revā (Narmadā) region, though this verse focuses on Śiva’s cosmic manifestation rather than a single tirtha.
No specific rite is prescribed here; the emphasis is on mantra-stuti (praise through mantras).
