Type: ghat
Listener: King (mahīpāla)
Scene: On the riverbank after snāna, a devotee performs śrāddha: offering piṇḍa and water-libations, with kusa grass, facing the river; subtle presence of ancestors receiving offerings in a luminous, unseen plane.
Performing ancestral rites at a praised tīrtha is presented as a complete and highly effective fulfillment of pitṛ-dharma.
The same Siddheśvara tīrtha on the Narmadā’s southern bank.
Tīrtha-snān followed by diligent performance of Śrāddha for the ancestors.
