Type: kshetra
Scene: Pilgrims emerge from the Narmadā, wet garments clinging, then proceed to a small sanctum where a Śiva-liṅga is worshiped; offerings of bilva leaves and water streams are visible; the atmosphere is clean, bright, and absolving.
Purification is attained through a combined discipline of tīrtha-snān and devotion-centered worship of Śiva.
Rāmeśvara tīrtha on the Narmadā’s southern bank.
Snāna at the tīrtha followed by pūjā of Maheśvara (Śiva).
