Ils la virent—la Puissance au côté gauche de Mahādeva, la Belle-aux-yeux—par la grâce de qui ceux qui ont secoué les liens du monde atteignent l’état śaiva suprême, la plus haute demeure de Śiva.

Role: liberating
The verse highlights that liberation (release from saṃsāra) culminates in attaining the supreme Śaiva padam—union with Śiva’s highest state—through recognizing Śiva together with His inseparable Śakti (seen at His left).
In Śaiva practice, the Liṅga represents Śiva as the Supreme, while devotion to Śiva is complete when Śakti is understood as inseparable from Him. Seeing Śiva with His left-side Śakti points to Saguna worship that matures into realization of the supreme Śaiva state.
A practical takeaway is steady Śiva-bhakti with Śiva-Śakti contemplation—japa of the Pañcākṣarī (Om Namaḥ Śivāya), worship of the Liṅga with bhasma and Rudrākṣa discipline—aimed at dissolving worldly attachment and attaining Śiva’s supreme abode.
