Tattva Level: pashu
Shiva Form: Dakṣiṇāmūrti
Role: teaching
It teaches that Shiva-realization is not merely conceptual: when the mind is inwardly gathered and surrendered to Īśvara (Pati), the teaching becomes established in buddhi; otherwise it stays unassimilated, reflecting the Shaiva Siddhanta emphasis on inner purification and grace-supported insight.
Linga/Saguna worship trains the devotee to offer the mind to Shiva; as the heart becomes steady and inward, the same Shiva who is worshipped with form is realized as the indwelling Lord, making the doctrine ‘ascend’ into lived understanding rather than remaining external.
Practice inward dhyāna with japa of the Panchākṣarī (Om Namaḥ Śivāya), mentally offering all thoughts to Shiva; support it with Shaiva disciplines like Tripuṇḍra (bhasma) and rudrākṣa as aids to steadiness and remembrance.
