Inquiry into the Unity of Śiva and Śakti
Para–Apara Ontology
Suta Goswami (narrating the Vāyavīya discourse to the sages at Naimisharanya)
Tattva Level: pati
Shiva Form: Sadāśiva
Role: liberating
Cosmic Event: emanation of śuddha-tattvas (nāda→bindu→Sadāśiva→Maheśvara→Śuddhavidyā)
It outlines a Shaiva cosmological ladder: from Nāda to Bindu to Sadāśiva, then Maheśvara, culminating in Śuddha-vidyā—showing how Shiva’s own power becomes the means by which consciousness turns toward purification and liberation.
Nāda and Bindu are subtle principles often contemplated through the Linga as a symbol of the unmanifest becoming manifest; Saguna worship focuses the mind so the devotee can ascend from form to the inner Sadāśiva principle and the clarifying light of Śuddha-vidyā.
Meditate on the inner sound (nāda-anusandhāna) while repeating the Panchākṣarī “Om Namaḥ Śivāya,” visualizing a luminous bindu at the heart or between the brows, praying for Śuddha-vidyā—pure discernment that loosens pāśa (bondage).
