Upamanyu

Tattva Level: pashu

Shiva Form: Sadāśiva

Sthala Purana: Not tied to a Jyotirliṅga; it teaches that diverse ritual fruits (nitya/naimittika/kāmya) are ‘summed up’ and obtained through liṅga and bera pratiṣṭhā—temple consecration as a comprehensive dharma-act.

Significance: Elevates temple installation (pratiṣṭhā) as a high-merit act benefiting patron/community; in Śaiva view, establishing arcā enables ongoing anugraha through daily worship.

Role: nurturing

Offering: naivedya

FAQs

It elevates Śiva-pratiṣṭhā as a concentrated Shaiva means: the fruits of varied karmas (daily, occasional, and desire-based) are gathered and refined through devotion and proper establishment of Śiva’s presence, pointing toward grace (anugraha) rather than mere ritual accumulation.

The verse explicitly teaches that establishing the Liṅga (aniconic emblem) and bera (iconic form) makes Saguna worship accessible and potent—providing a sanctified locus where devotees can serve Śiva through pūjā, mantra, and offerings with immediate efficacy.

It suggests performing Śiva-liṅga/bera pratiṣṭhā according to Śaiva injunctions and then maintaining nitya-pūjā—typically with pañcākṣara japa (Om Namaḥ Śivāya), abhiṣeka, and offerings—so the practitioner’s karmic aims are fulfilled under Śiva’s grace.
