Occasional Rites and Their Procedure
शिवसाधर्म्यमासाद्य न भूयो विनिवर्तते । यश्चातीव शिवे भक्तो विषयासक्तचित्तवत्
śivasādharmyamāsādya na bhūyo vinivartate | yaścātīva śive bhakto viṣayāsaktacittavat
Ayant atteint l’identité de nature avec Śiva (śiva-sādharmya), on ne revient plus à la servitude du monde. Et celui qui est intensément dévot à Śiva, son esprit s’absorbe en Śiva comme l’esprit de l’homme ordinaire s’absorbe dans les objets des sens.

Significance: Defines the fruit of Śiva-bhakti as ‘śiva-sādharmya’ (Śiva-like state) and non-return to bondage; a doctrinal lens for all jyotirliṅga pilgrimages as aiming at transformation, not mere merit.

Role: liberating
It teaches that the highest fruit of Śiva-bhakti is Śiva-sādharmya—becoming Śiva-like in purity and freedom—after which there is no return to saṃsāra; devotion becomes a one-pointed absorption that dissolves bondage.
Saguna worship—such as Linga-upāsanā—trains the mind into steady absorption in Śiva; when devotion matures into unwavering fixation on Him, it culminates in liberation described here as Śiva-sādharmya.
Cultivate single-pointed remembrance of Śiva through japa of the Pañcākṣarī (Om Namaḥ Śivāya), along with disciplined worship (pūjā) and inner dhyāna so the mind clings to Śiva rather than to sense-objects.
