Qu’il offre fleurs, encens et lampe, et qu’il présente aussi la nourriture avec l’eau. Ensuite, se tenant sur le grand siège-autel (mahāpīṭha) et faisant face au nord, qu’il offre le bali (oblation rituelle).
Suta Goswami
Tattva Level: pashu
Shiva Form: Sadāśiva
Shakti Form: Annapūrṇā
Role: nurturing
Offering: naivedya
It teaches orderly, sattvic worship: devotion is expressed through simple offerings (flower, incense, lamp, food, water) and disciplined conduct, turning daily acts into reverent service to Pati (Shiva) for inner purification.
These are standard upacāras of Saguna Shiva worship, typically performed before the Linga—light (dīpa) symbolizes awakening of awareness, fragrance (dhūpa) indicates sanctification, and naivedya-water signifies surrender of sustenance to Shiva.
Perform Shiva-puja with upacāras and then offer bali at the mahāpīṭha while facing north; inwardly maintain steadiness and remembrance of Shiva (often supported by japa of the Panchakshara, “Om Namaḥ Śivāya”).
