Suta Goswami (narrating the Vāyavīya teaching to the sages of Naimiṣāraṇya)
Tattva Level: pashu
Shiva Form: Sadyojāta
It teaches that Śiva accepts sincere devotion expressed through simple, pure means; the devotee’s intent (bhakti) is primary, while implements are supportive aids for disciplined worship.
It gives practical guidance for Linga-upacāra—sprinkling/offerings during abhiṣeka—showing how Saguna worship of Śiva’s Linga-form can be performed even with readily available sacred items.
Perform abhiṣeka/aspersion to the Śiva-Linga using a cow-horn, darbha, palāśa leaf, lotus, or hands, repeating the act three or five times—ideally alongside japa of the Pañcākṣarī (Om Namaḥ Śivāya).
