Maṇḍala Worship and Homa Sequence for the Disciple
ततश्शिवेन सम्प्रोक्ष्य शिष्यं शिरसि पूर्ववत् । विलयं शांत्यतीतायाः शक्तितत्त्वे ऽथ चिंतयेत्
tataśśivena samprokṣya śiṣyaṃ śirasi pūrvavat | vilayaṃ śāṃtyatītāyāḥ śaktitattve 'tha ciṃtayet
Alors, comme auparavant, après avoir consacré le disciple en aspergeant d’eau sanctifiée sa tête par la puissance de Śiva, le précepteur doit méditer la dissolution (du moi limité et de ses liens) dans le principe de Śakti, qui transcende même la paix (śānti-atītā).

It outlines a Shaiva initiatory movement: purification of the disciple and contemplative absorption where the soul’s limiting bonds (pāśa) are dissolved by grace into Śakti-tattva, pointing to liberation under Pati (Śiva).
The sprinkling “with Śiva” reflects Saguna upāsanā through consecration and mantra-śakti; from that ritual support, the practitioner is guided inward toward subtle contemplation of Śakti and the transcendence that the Liṅga ultimately signifies.
A dīkṣā-like consecration by sprinkling the disciple’s head, followed by laya-dhyāna: meditating on dissolution into Śakti-tattva beyond the ordinary peace-state—an inner practice aligned with Shaiva yoga.
