Shiva Purana — Vayaviya Samhita, Shloka 57

पशु-पाश-पतिविचारः / Inquiry into Paśu, Pāśa, and Pati

FAQs

It identifies Śiva as Pati—beyond time and all limiting categories—yet the very power by which the world’s change and order proceed; thus, refuge in Him brings dharma and the removal of sin.

Though Śiva is described as transcendent (beyond time), devotees approach that same supreme reality through Saguna worship—especially the Śiva-liṅga—as the accessible support (viśvadhāma) of the universe.

Contemplate Śiva as beyond kāla while chanting the Pañcākṣarī (Om Namaḥ Śivāya) and adopt dharmic conduct; such devotion is presented as a means to cleanse pāpa and align one’s life with Śiva’s order.
