Acquisition of Paśupati–Pāśa Knowledge
Suta Goswami (narrating the Vāyavīyasaṃhitā teaching to the sages at Naimiṣāraṇya)
Tattva Level: pashu
Shiva Form: Sadāśiva
Role: teaching
It teaches viveka: the self (puruṣa) is not the body. Liberation begins when wrong identification with the body is corrected and right vision arises through Shiva’s grace and disciplined insight.
Linga-worship trains the mind to move from outward form to inner reality: from body-based identity to awareness of the indwelling consciousness, leading toward recognition of Shiva as Pati, the Lord beyond the limited deha.
Practice daily japa of the Panchākṣarī (Om Namaḥ Śivāya) with meditation on the witness-consciousness, and use bhasma/tripuṇḍra as a reminder of impermanence—supporting detachment from body-identification.
