Alors elle vit elle-même les grains recueillis en glanant ; et cette dame à la voix douce les broya en farine, puis les mêla à l’eau.

Tattva Level: pasha
Sthala Purana: Not a Jyotirliṅga passage; it depicts austere household economy (uñchavṛtti) and the making of a substitute.
Significance: Highlights tapas and simplicity (uñchavṛtti), while also showing the limits of material substitutes when the soul’s longing is ultimately for the divine giver.
Role: nurturing
Offering: naivedya
It highlights tapas expressed as simplicity and self-reliance—living on uñchavṛtti and preparing one’s own food—showing inner purity and restraint that support devotion to Pati (Shiva) and loosening the bonds of pasha.
Such disciplined, sattvic living is presented as a supportive foundation for Saguna Shiva worship—making the mind steady and fit for mantra, pūjā, and single-pointed bhakti toward the Linga.
A takeaway is austere, pure living (niyama) alongside steady japa—especially the Panchakshara “Om Namaḥ Śivāya”—as the daily discipline that strengthens worship and contemplation.
