It teaches the Shaiva Siddhanta principle that Śiva (Pati) is eternally pure and unaffected, while the bound soul (paśu) is purified by establishing sambandha—real connection—through devotion, grace, and contemplative union with Śiva.
Linga and Saguna worship are presented as sacred points of contact (śiva-saṃsarga): the devotee approaches the pure Lord through form, mantra, and ritual, and it is the devotee’s consciousness that is transformed—Śiva is never diminished by receiving offerings from the impure.
Cultivate śiva-saṃsarga through japa of the Pañcākṣarī (Om Namaḥ Śivāya), steady dhyāna on Śiva, and purificatory Shaiva observances such as Tripuṇḍra (bhasma) and Rudrākṣa—done with the intent of inner cleansing and reliance on Śiva’s grace.
