The Supreme Lord as the Uncaused Cause
Suta Goswami
Tattva Level: pashu
Shiva Form: Sadāśiva
Role: liberating
It teaches that for the paśu (the individual soul bound by pāśa), both worldly and spiritual successes arise only when Shiva’s prasāda (grace) is present; and the highest fruit of all practice is realization of Shiva as Pati.
Linga-worship and Saguna devotion are effective not merely as techniques, but because they invite Shiva’s grace; the verse frames all worship as culminating in Shiva Himself, not in secondary powers.
Undertake sādhana—such as japa of the Panchakshara (Om Namaḥ Śivāya), Linga-pūjā with bhakti, and Shaiva disciplines like bhasma (tripuṇḍra) and rudrākṣa—while keeping the focus on seeking Shiva’s grace rather than siddhis.
