षडध्ववेदनम् (Ṣaḍadhva-vedanam) — The Sixfold Path: Sound, Meaning, and Tattva-Distribution

स तयैव गृही सापि तेनैव गृहिणी सदा । तयोरपत्यं यत्कार्यं परप्रकृतिजं जगत्

sa tayaiva gṛhī sāpi tenaiva gṛhiṇī sadā | tayorapatyaṃ yatkāryaṃ paraprakṛtijaṃ jagat

Il n’est maître de maison que par Elle, et Elle n’est à jamais maîtresse du foyer que par Lui. L’univers—né de la Prakṛti suprême—est leur progéniture, l’effet issu de leur œuvre conjointe.

It teaches that the cosmos is a dependent effect (kārya) arising from the inseparable unity of Shiva (Pati, the conscious Lord) and Shakti (Parā-Prakṛti, the power of manifestation). From a Shaiva Siddhanta lens, liberation comes by recognizing the Lord as the ultimate cause and not mistaking the world as independent.

The Linga represents Shiva as the supreme, while its worship is fulfilled through Shakti’s grace and manifest power. This verse supports Saguna devotion by affirming that the manifest universe itself is the Lord’s and Devi’s ‘progeny,’ so worship of Shiva honors the source behind all forms.

Contemplate Shiva and Shakti as non-separate—repeat the Panchakshara mantra “Om Namaḥ Śivāya” with the insight that all experiences are kārya (effects) dependent on the Lord, and offer daily worship (with bhasma/Tripuṇḍra and Rudrākṣa if practiced) as a remembrance of Pati as the ultimate ground.
