शिवस्तुतिवर्णनम् (Śiva-stuti-varṇanam) — “Description of Hymns in Praise of Śiva”
Suta Goswami (narrating to the sages of Naimisharanya)
Tattva Level: pashu
Shiva Form: Mahādeva
It highlights that even the devas find clarity and protection by aligning with Śiva’s icchā (divine will), expressing the Shaiva Siddhanta principle that Pati (Śiva) is the supreme guide and refuge.
The devas’ folded hands and joyful address reflect Saguna devotion—approaching Śiva as the compassionate Lord who can be directly worshiped and petitioned, as in Linga-upāsanā with humility and surrender.
Practicing añjali (folded hands) with a steady mind—paired with simple japa like “Om Namaḥ Śivāya”—cultivates surrender to Śiva’s will before prayer, worship, or any vow (vrata).
