शिवस्तुतिवर्णनम् (Śiva-stuti-varṇanam) — “Description of Hymns in Praise of Śiva”
Devas (speaking to Lord Shiva)
Tattva Level: pati
Shiva Form: Īśāna
Type: stotra
It affirms Shiva as Pati—the supreme Lord whose will regulates even the Devas; recognizing this sovereignty nurtures śaraṇāgati (surrender) and steadiness in dharma.
Linga-worship honors Shiva as the cosmic governor beyond all limited forms; as Saguna Shiva, He directs the world’s functions through His command, which the Devas execute.
A practical takeaway is daily japa of the Pañcākṣarī (“Om Namaḥ Śivāya”) with an attitude of surrender, offering one’s actions as Shiva’s service—supported by Tripuṇḍra and rudrākṣa as reminders of His lordship.
