FAQs

It teaches śravaṇa (devotional listening) with firm faith: when one hears the sacred history without doubt, Śaṅkara—Pati, the gracious Lord—bestows śam (peace, welfare) and guides the soul toward liberation.

The verse emphasizes trust in Śaṅkara’s active, compassionate agency—Saguna Shiva who responds to devotion. Listening to Shiva’s līlā and glory strengthens bhakti that naturally supports Linga-worship and surrender.

Practice śravaṇa of Shiva-kathā with niścaya (certainty), and conclude with a simple japa of the Panchākṣarī—“Om Namaḥ Śivāya”—as a way to internalize the assurance that Śiva brings auspiciousness.
