(Devastuti) — Hymn/Praise of the Devas

Tattva Level: pati
Shiva Form: Dakṣiṇāmūrti
Type: stotra
Role: teaching
Cosmic Event: Vyatīpāta yoga (auspicious/charged temporal conjunction)
The verse praises Shiva as the indwelling source of auspiciousness, sacred vitality, and dharmic discernment—showing that true righteousness and spiritual clarity arise through Pati (Shiva) guiding the bound soul (paśu) beyond pāśa (bondage).
By declaring Shiva present as the highest quality within all categories, the verse supports Saguna worship: the devotee centers the mind on Shiva (often through the Linga) and learns to recognize His grace operating as inner dharma-buddhi and loving companionship.
Meditate on Shiva as dharma-buddhi while chanting the Panchakshara mantra “Om Namaḥ Śivāya,” and offer simple Linga-upacharas (water, bilva) with the intention to purify intellect and align choices with dharma.
