FAQs

The verse highlights humility (praṇipāta) before divine authority and the sanctity of confidential spiritual instruction—truth is conveyed fully (aśeṣataḥ) when the listener is receptive and the setting is reverent.

In the Sṛṣṭi narrative, dialogues between cosmic deities often precede deeper recognition of Shiva as Pati (the Supreme Lord). The “private telling” frames an initiation-like transmission that commonly culminates in understanding Shiva-tattva and the proper mode of worship (including Saguna forms such as the Linga).

The implied practice is praṇipāta (bowing) and disciplined speech—receiving and sharing sacred teachings in a focused, respectful manner; as a takeaway, approach mantra-japa (e.g., Om Namaḥ Śivāya) with humility and confidentiality of inner experience.
