Determination of Flower-Offerings to Śiva

It teaches that devotion to Lord Śiva is expressed not only through feeling but also through disciplined sacred order (vidhi); careful measures in offerings cultivate steadiness, purity, and one-pointed bhakti toward Pati (Śiva).
The verse is part of practical Linga-pūjā instructions: when karavīra or nirguṇḍī flowers are used, the offering quantity is to be doubled—showing that Saguna worship of the Śiva-liṅga has specific, tradition-backed procedures that sanctify the act.
It suggests attentive ritual discipline in flower-offering during Śiva-liṅga pūjā—especially doubling the prescribed measure for karavīra and nirguṇḍī—performed with mantra-focused devotion (e.g., japa of “Om Namaḥ Śivāya”).
