सेवातत्त्वप्रश्नः — The Question of Whom to Serve (Sevā) for the Removal of Suffering
Suta Goswami
Tattva Level: pati
Shiva Form: Sadāśiva
Sthala Purana: Concludes the argument: Śiva’s ‘tṛpti’ transcends full intellectual capture; yet worship of Śiva is universally inclusive—honoring all devas through the root-cause.
Significance: Affirms Śiva as the most comprehensive object of worship; promises completeness of deva-tarpaṇa and spiritual uplift through Śiva-pūjā.
Type: stotra
Role: liberating
Offering: dhupa
The verse teaches Shiva’s supremacy as Pati (the Lord) whose grace and satisfaction are beyond full intellectual measurement, and it affirms that devotion directed to Shiva becomes universally efficacious—embracing all divine powers.
It supports the Shaiva principle that worship of Saguna Shiva—especially through the Shiva-linga as a consecrated focus—reaches the supreme Lord; since all devas operate under Shiva’s lordship, honoring Shiva includes honoring them.
Prioritize Shiva-puja with steady bhakti—such as japa of the Panchakshara (Om Namaḥ Śivāya), offering bilva leaves and water to the linga, and maintaining purity with bhasma (Tripuṇḍra) and Rudraksha as supportive disciplines.
