Concise Teaching on Liṅga Worship / Śiva-arcana-vidhi
Sūta Gosvāmin (narrating the teaching within the Sṛṣṭikhaṇḍa context)
Tattva Level: pashu
Shiva Form: Sadāśiva
Significance: Articulates śaraṇāgati to Śiva as the supreme refuge across saṃsāra (bhave bhave), aligning pilgrimage with lifelong surrender rather than mere travel.
Type: stotra
Cosmic Event: saṃsāra-cycle implied by ‘bhave bhave’ (repeated births)
It teaches śaraṇāgati (total refuge) in Pati—Lord Śiva—as the sole protector and liberator, and affirms steadfast bhakti that continues across births until grace culminates in moksha.
By declaring “no other refuge,” it supports single-pointed devotion to Saguna Śiva approached through accessible forms like the Śiva-liṅga, where the devotee anchors mind and life in Śiva’s presence and receives His grace.
Practice daily śiva-bhakti through japa of the Pañcākṣarī (“Om Namaḥ Śivāya”), liṅga-pūjā with water and bilva leaves, and an inner vow of refuge in Śiva—especially intensified on Mahāśivarātri.
