लिङ्गपूजनसंक्षेपः

शूद्रो नवागुलं कुर्यादिति मानमिदं स्मृतम् । कालदोषं विचार्य्यैव मनुदृष्टं विवर्जयेत्

śūdro navāgulaṃ kuryāditi mānamidaṃ smṛtam | kāladoṣaṃ vicāryyaiva manudṛṣṭaṃ vivarjayet

Il est mémorisé comme mesure prescrite qu’un Śūdra doit le faire de neuf largeurs de doigt. Mais, après avoir soigneusement considéré les défauts dus au temps et aux circonstances, on doit écarter ce qui n’est que l’observation de Manu lorsqu’elle devient inappropriée.
