Ensuite, selon la règle prescrite, qu’on prenne dûment l’hymne de bon augure. Puis, s’étant levé, qu’on se dirige vers le sud pour l’évacuation des impuretés du corps.

Tattva Level: pashu
Sthala Purana: General nitya-kriyā instruction: after preliminary acts, one undertakes stotra per vidhi; then attends to bodily śauca by going south for malotsarga—part of ritual discipline preceding worship.
Significance: Emphasizes śauca (purity) as a prerequisite for fruitful stotra/japa; bodily order supports mental steadiness for devotion.
Type: stotra
It links devotion (taking up an auspicious stotra with proper observance) with discipline and purity, showing that orderly conduct supports focused Shiva-bhakti and steadiness of mind.
Linga-worship commonly begins with regulated preparation; this verse highlights that hymn-recitation and basic ritual cleanliness are part of approaching Saguna Shiva with reverence and attentiveness.
Recite an auspicious Shiva-stotra according to vidhi, and maintain bodily cleanliness (including prescribed direction for evacuation) before commencing worship, japa, or puja.
