Brahma

Shakti Form: Rati
Role: nurturing
The verse highlights humility and obedience to rightful divine instruction: even a powerful deity like Kāma bows respectfully, implying that ego and desire must submit to dharma—an attitude that supports Shaiva discipline and inner purification.
In the Sati Khanda narrative arc, Kāma’s role typically foreshadows encounters with Shiva’s tapas and the supremacy of Shiva beyond desire; this supports Saguna Shiva worship (Linga/manifest form) as a means to steady the mind and transcend kama through devotion.
The practical takeaway is namaskāra and self-restraint: begin worship with reverent prostration, then practice japa (especially “Om Namaḥ Śivāya”) to discipline desire and align the mind with Shiva-centered devotion.
