Brahmā’s Enchantment by Desire during the Wedding Rites
Tattva Level: pati
Shiva Form: Sadāśiva
It declares Śiva as the inner Lord (Pati) who presides over all categories of experience—cosmic intellect, subtle elements, senses, and the manifest world—pointing the seeker to rely on Him as the ultimate support beyond changing tattvas.
The Liṅga signifies the one reality that both transcends and pervades creation; calling Śiva “Viśvamūrti” affirms Saguna worship as valid because the entire cosmos and its faculties are upheld by Him, while the Liṅga also points to His nirguṇa supremacy.
A practical takeaway is tattva-sākṣī-bhāva: during japa of the Pañcākṣarī (Om Namaḥ Śivāya), observe senses and thoughts as dependent on Śiva’s adhiṣṭhāna, and offer them inwardly to the Liṅga in meditation.
