तारकवाक्य-शक्रविष्णुवीरभद्रयुद्धवर्णनम् — Account of Tāraka’s declarations and the battle involving Śakra (Indra), Viṣṇu, and Vīrabhadra

Ayant commis à plusieurs reprises de nombreux actes pécheurs, Hari et Śakra furent terrassés par l'éclat divin accablant ; en particulier, ils furent privés de leur force et de leur prouesse.

It highlights the Shaiva principle that even exalted devas are bound by karma (pāśa); repeated wrongdoing leads to the loss of tejas and vīrya, urging humility and a return to dharma and Shiva’s grace for purification.
The verse frames divine tejas as a force that subdues pride and impurity; in the Shiva Purana, turning to Saguna Shiva through Linga-worship is the remedial path—seeking cleansing, restraint, and restoration of right order through devotion.
A practical takeaway is repentance and purification through Shiva-upāsanā: japa of the Pañcākṣarī (Om Namaḥ Śivāya), wearing rudrākṣa and applying tripuṇḍra (bhasma) with a vow of dharmic conduct to rebuild inner tejas.
