FAQs

It shows how egoic power (asuric bala) reacts to dharmic awakening: when the devas align to restore cosmic order, the asura responds with force. In Shaiva thought, such pride is a form of pāśa (bondage) that ultimately collapses before Śiva’s higher will operating through His divine instrument.

Though the verse is martial in tone, it advances the narrative in which Saguna Śiva’s grace manifests through a concrete divine form—Skanda/Kumāra—who becomes the means by which adharma is removed. This reinforces the Purāṇic theme that devotion to Śiva’s manifest forms leads to protection and restoration of dharma.

The practical takeaway is steadiness in dharmic resolve: daily japa of the Pañcākṣarī (“Om Namaḥ Śivāya”) and wearing/using rudrākṣa for focused remembrance of Śiva, so that inner ‘asuric’ impulses (anger, pride) do not overrun the mind when challenges arise.
