Description of Kumāra’s Wondrous Deeds
kārttika uvāca | vadhayogyo na viprā'jaḥ svagṛhaṃ gaccha nārada | pūrṇo'stu te'dhvarassarvaḥ prasādādeva me kṛtaḥ
Tattva Level: pati
Shiva Form: Umāpati
Role: liberating
The verse teaches that true sanctity in worship is fulfilled by divine grace (prasāda) and dharma, not by violence; Kārttikeya upholds compassion and declares the rite complete through his blessing.
In Shaiva practice, Saguna divinity responds to devotion with prasāda; this mirrors Linga-worship where purity, restraint, and surrender invite Shiva’s (and Shiva’s family’s) grace to perfect the offering beyond external acts.
Prioritize sattvic worship—offerings without harm, prayer for prasāda, and devotion-centered recitation (such as the Panchākṣarī “Om Namaḥ Śivāya”) as the inner means to “complete” one’s worship.
