FAQs

It highlights that obscuring or resisting Shiva’s divine will (here symbolized as His potency) arises from delusion and leads to binding consequences—life becomes dominated by fruit-seeking action and burdensome austerity until humility and Shiva’s grace restore right alignment.

The Linga represents Shiva’s manifest presence and sovereign power; this verse warns against denying that power. Worship of Saguna Shiva through the Linga cultivates surrender, replacing delusion with devotion so karma is purified rather than multiplied.

A practical takeaway is karmic purification through Shaiva devotion: daily japa of “Om Namaḥ Śivāya,” offering water to the Shiva-Linga with repentance, and maintaining Tripuṇḍra (bhasma) as a reminder to restrain ego and delusion.
