It highlights śaraṇāgati (surrender) and kṣamā-prārthanā (seeking forgiveness): even a cosmic deity like Agni admits delusion and turns to Pati (Śiva) for grace to remove the consequence of error.
Agni addresses Śiva personally as Maheśāna, reflecting Saguna devotion where the Lord is approached as a compassionate ruler who forgives offenses and regulates cosmic forces—an attitude central to Linga-worship and daily pūjā.
A practical takeaway is aparādha-kṣamāpanā (confession and forgiveness-prayer) before japa or pūjā—especially chanting the Pañcākṣarī “Om Namaḥ Śivāya” and offering cooling, sattvic items (like water) while praying for inner “heat” (anger, restlessness) to subside by Śiva’s grace.
