शिवपुत्रजननवर्णनम् — Description of the Birth/Manifestation of Śiva’s Son
शिव उवाच । हे हरे हे विधे देवास्सर्वे शृणुत मद्वचः । भविष्यति सुखं वोऽद्य सावधाना भवन्तु हि
śiva uvāca | he hare he vidhe devāssarve śṛṇuta madvacaḥ | bhaviṣyati sukhaṃ vo'dya sāvadhānā bhavantu hi
Śiva dit : «Ô Hari, ô Vidhātrā (Brahmā), et vous tous, Devas, écoutez Mes paroles. Aujourd’hui, bonheur et délivrance viendront à vous ; soyez donc attentifs.»
Lord Shiva
Tattva Level: pati
Shiva Form: Sadāśiva
Role: teaching
It portrays Śiva as Pati (the supreme Lord) who reassures the devas and directs them to attentive listening—implying that grace and resolution arise when beings align their awareness with the Lord’s instruction.
The verse emphasizes receiving Śiva’s guidance directly; in Saguna worship, devotees approach Śiva through accessible forms such as the Liṅga and then practice śravaṇa (hearing) and anusandhāna (attentive contemplation) of His teaching.
A practical takeaway is śravaṇa with sāvadhānatā—quiet, focused listening to Śiva-kathā or mantra-japa (e.g., pañcākṣarī “Om Namaḥ Śivāya”) with alert attention, as a preparatory discipline before ritual worship.
