The Devas (gods), praying to Lord Shiva (Hara) during a crisis/battle
Tattva Level: pashu
Shiva Form: Hara
Type: stotra
It teaches Śaraṇāgati (surrender): even the Devas confess their limitation and recognize Hara (Śiva) alone as the true remover of duḥkha, emphasizing Pati’s grace as the decisive power over fear and death.
The cry “Hara Hara” is direct Saguna invocation—calling Shiva as the compassionate Lord who actively intervenes. In Linga-worship, the devotee similarly approaches Shiva as the living refuge who dissolves distress and grants protection.
Japa of Shiva’s names—especially the भाव of “Hara, Hara”—and Panchākṣarī (Om Namaḥ Śivāya) with prayerful surrender; offering bilva and applying tripuṇḍra/bhasma as a reminder that Shiva alone removes duḥkha and fear.
