Description of the Birth/Manifestation of Śiva’s Son
Suta Goswami
Tattva Level: pati
Shiva Form: Mahādeva
It highlights Śiva as Pati—the supreme governor of cosmic order—before whom even the devas’ intellect can fail; liberation-oriented wisdom begins with humility and alignment to Śiva’s ordinance rather than pride in celestial power.
The verse underscores that Saguna Śiva’s śakti and ājñā actively govern the universe; Linga-worship trains the devotee to recognize that supreme authority and to steady the mind where the devas became bewildered.
A practical takeaway is japa of the Pañcākṣarī (“Om Namaḥ Śivāya”) with bhakti and humility, coupled with Tripuṇḍra (bhasma) remembrance of impermanence—so one’s buddhi remains anchored in Śiva rather than shaken by power or fear.
