Krauñca Seeks Refuge; Slaying of Bāṇāsura
सर्वपापहरं दिव्यं सर्वकामप्रदं नृणाम् । धन्यं यशस्यमायुष्यं भुक्तिमुक्तिप्रदं सताम्
sarvapāpaharaṃ divyaṃ sarvakāmapradaṃ nṛṇām | dhanyaṃ yaśasyamāyuṣyaṃ bhuktimuktipradaṃ satām
« C’est divin et cela détruit tous les péchés ; aux humains, cela accorde tout désir légitime. C’est auspice, cela donne la renommée, accroît la durée de vie, et—surtout aux vertueux—accorde à la fois la jouissance du monde et la libération ultime (mokṣa). »

Significance: Phalaśruti: hearing/reciting the Kumāra-carita is said to remove pāpa and grant bhukti and mukti—typical Purāṇic framing of śravaṇa-kīrtana as a pilgrimage-equivalent merit.

The verse praises a Shaiva practice or praise of Shiva as both purifying (destroying pāpa) and elevating: it supports dharmic life (auspiciousness, fame, longevity) while also leading the devotee toward mukti through Shiva’s grace as Pati (the liberating Lord).
By describing tangible fruits—bhukti, protection, and purification—it aligns with Saguna Shiva worship (including Linga-upāsanā), where devotion and ritual reverence to Shiva’s manifest form mature into inner purity and readiness for liberation.
Regular Shiva-bhakti supported by japa of the Panchākṣarī mantra (“Om Namaḥ Śivāya”) and Linga-pūjā is implied, as these are the classic Shiva Purana means said to cleanse sins and culminate in both well-being and moksha.
