FAQs

The verse highlights that even Viṣṇu and the devas, struck with awe, turn toward Śiva as the supreme refuge (Pati). In a Śaiva Siddhānta reading, wonder matures into humble seeking—approaching Śiva’s “door” symbolizes moving from worldly certainty to surrender and grace.

Going to “Śiva’s gate” reflects approaching Śiva in an accessible, worship-worthy form (Saguna)—the same devotional movement that culminates in darśana and pūjā of Śiva, often expressed in Purāṇic practice through Liṅga worship as the sacred threshold to the transcendent.

The implied takeaway is “approach and surrender”: begin with respectful entry into Śiva-upāsanā—mentally going to Śiva’s presence while repeating the Pañcākṣarī (Om Namaḥ Śivāya) with a devotional attitude, as one would approach a sanctum door before worship.
